This old vine cuvée is inexpensive and very lively. Nose has pungent crunchy berry fruit, a yeasty note, roasted herbs, and crushed rock dust. Crisp and crunchy and bone dry, it’s got loads of upfront zingy dark berry fruit, goods acids, and a substantial cleansing bitter component in the back half of the palate. Just a slight bit of finely chalky tannin. Quite refreshing. Use it as you would a Beaujolais or a Valpolicella.
