Big and rich and coming into its own now. Plummy and jammy on one hand, with some savoury characters and a good whack of texture, plus that high alcohol warmth. Great for a winter’s night with steak and vintage cheddar. Not exactly delicate, but very easy to sit back and enjoy.

Elegant richness on the nose, with dried and stewed fruit, both black and red, but without being sickly. It’s mouth-coating, with blackberry jam and a hint of dusty cocoa. It’s really rather likeable and should develop very nicely in the next several years.
