Had been wanting to try this Cuvée which largely helped put English Sparkling on the map. Good bead with aromas of Apple and light biscuity aromas with good persistence on the palate. Would easily hold its own in French company. One of the 1001 wines. Have not seen it available in Australia as yet but I might have missed it.

Weston hosted Friday group today and was it definitely a can’t miss tasting. Wow! Absolutely knocked it out of the park with heavy hitter after heavy hitter. Similar to Wednesday group, all wines are tasted blind.

English sparkler ladies and gentlemen! Coming on the scene hot. Most guessed French NV. I wondered if it was possibly high end west coast like an Ultramarine. Loads of apple here. Little yeast and chalk. Great texture and bubbles.

Better than most English faux-champagnes. A nice tasty nose with a discernible, not unwelcome tang of Brett. However, it had an underwhelming expression of fruit and minerals (green apples, green grape juice, and, hot (for England...) sand) and was quite short. It also had that giant hole in the mid-palate that English wine tends to have; as if something's frankly just missing. Producers over here should stick with varietals that are suited to the climate and terroir; forget the hype - Sussex is not the new champagne!

A half-bottle taste of England, sparkling wine on a par with those of nearby Champagne.

Quite pale straw colour . On the nose ripe lemon peel and , baked apple pastry notes. On the palate quite tart acidity , those citrus peel notes , refreshing but with decent body . There is a creaminess on the palate and on the finish the dosage is just noticeable though it balances well with the high acidity , ok length lemon pith finish . I think this would be identifiable as English Sparkling wine in a blind tasting , the style is quite classic and relatively lean with high acidity, it’s own distinct style . This is perfect to drink now , the entry level Nyetimber cuvee , and a pretty good entry level wine at that

Gentle, walnutty, gingerbread and hazelnut.

England is making proper sparkling wine.

Vanilla + confectionery nose, pinot noir dominates the palate. Great with New potatoes, grilled sasauges and Summer salad. 23/5-2021

Small active bubbles w a nice mousse. Touch of green Apple then lemon curd and some brioche but not toasty. Crisp and clean. Beautiful.
