Good concentration of red and dark fruit, length, but no full mouthfeel, liquorice like

Des vieux, très vieux plans de tempranillo et garnacha! Un résultat étonnant; opaque, fruits noirs, épices orientales, boisé fondu et matière soutenue un peu tannique.

Tempranillo and a little Garnacha from 3ha of 50-80yr vines, partial whole cluster and partial destemmed, aged 2yrs in French barrels. Dark cherry fruit, fine tannins and very bright acidity. "Cadastro" is a play on words referring to the confusing land title situation Olivier went through with a neighboring vineyard owner.

Initially very reductive on the nose. Got some stinky rustic smell with a touch of spice. Super fine but persistent tannin. Black cherry, liquorice. Very dark... nothing pretty with the fruit. Robust and not to be messed with. Needs time but technically exceptional. 93+
