Closed on a new house, and this had to be the first bottle. Really strong tertiary flavors and maybe a hint of Brett. But primarily wet overturned soil, crunchy leaves, and forest floor. Palate shows really fleshy and ripe dark toned fruits like black currant, blackberry and a whisper of black raspberry. It’s still got strong acid backbone with fading tannins. Breathtaking rim variation showing a full spectrum of dark ruby at the core fading to almost pink at the meniscus. Was afraid it could be past it’s peak but still showing very well.

We were rightfully concerned that this was past its time. Though rich in sediment, a little filtering, a soft pour decant and this was silk and drinking like a grand old lady

Drank slightly past its prime. Very leathery with fading tannin. Currant, and black cherry come to mind with a lingering moss aftertaste. Not their finest year.
