Tasted twice! Blend of 71% Cab Sauv, 8% Cab Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, 11% Merlot & 1% Malbec, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, tobacco, herbs and licorice. On the palate black cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavors with espresso, mocha, oak and earthy tobacco notes. Well balanced, great mouthfeel, medium acidity, fine ripe silky tannins, long finish ending with fruit, cedar and toasty spice! Very Nice! Will age well for another decade!

Absolutely outstanding performance by the 2011 Opus One. Dense and concentrated with a mesmerising complexity, a fresh and vibrant core that keeps the wine very much alive with a penetrating sensation through an everlasting finish. The nose shows an multidimensional complexity, ranging from cassis, blackberries, lavender, through cedar, pencil shavings, coffee, cocoa powder before finishing with a gravelly sensation. The palate is marked by its high, yet powdery tannins with a good acidity with an athletic stamina that holds the complex profile a length that lasts for minutes. Drinks well right now but with plenty of life ahead.

Tasting '11 Opus One before release on market. Difficult vintage, late rainfall during flowing caused reduced # & size of berries & increased concentration. Lowest % of Cab S (71%) used in blend, the rest 11% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Cab F, and %1 Malbec : Tasting note: smoky quality like Lapsang tea, strong herb notes w/ fresh cranberry, linear body, lots of structure, a wine that will make great old bones.

Tight, black currants, edgy, tart, green notes. Aromatic. For the long haul.

Variedad por encima de todo pero muy bien expresada. Concentración y elegancia en mismo tercio. Muy rico!
