Revisited this wine, and it still shows complexity and balance. This bottle seems to have higher acidity and fig-like sweet note. Silky. Still a great Merlot, but somehow I was not as impressed as the first time.

Aug 15th, 2016Tasted the wine in between 2 great Napa cab and this Merlot more than held its own. Deep inky color, complex nose of red berries and herbs balanced out with oaky smell. Fresh, layered, and full body, refined tannins, the wine probably just enters its prime and can be cellared for several more years. A great merlot.
