Bright and deep beautiful orange color, a little sticky, tear drops.
First note like apricot, orange, dried pineapple, almond, nuts, chocolate, second scent of onion, sesame oil, garlic, Katsuo-bushi, and third aroma of vinegar, pickles, plum, rum, barrels, and raisins.
Mild comfortable sweet attack, matured smooth acid, soft and rich UMAMI, with nuance of dried fruit and nuts.
Hint of bitterness conduct the taste, very good balance and long finish.

I enjoyed it for my birthday.

Orange wine... An enigma wrapped in a riddle. Are they just bad or are they complex and interesting? An acquired taste or an affected opinion based on fadishness. The last one I tasted was vibrant and fruity. This isn't. It's bone dry, some tertiary elements, certainly no fruit to speak of. Slightly bitter. Possibly a sort of umami sensation. Definitely weird. Did I hate it? I'm not sure. There was something intriguing about it. Did I finish a glass? No.

Funky aroma. Peppery, spicy. Earthy. 3 weeks on the skins. Long fermentation. Evolving palate.

One of my all-time favorite and 2010 reaffirms my love affair with Giampiero's dedication to 120 year old Trebbiano he collects from the Spoletino valley in Umbria.
