Pattes Loup (Thomas Pico)
Vent d'Ange Chablis Chardonnay
Nose has fresh lemon slice, lemon juice on chalk, lightly oxidized yellow apple slice and crushed oyster shells.
Palate has warmed lemon, lemon peel, wet chalk, orange peel, (minor) lemon verbena tea with a sandstone-chalky finish.
A fun, but youthful, Chablis; expect this bottle to show better in 2021-22+.

Not overly excited trying this, it seems. It has decent balance, acidity, length, complexity and intensity, but the fruit is just a bit too ripe. Still a very good wine, but it does not get me going.

Feb 25th, 2024Was good, but not what I was looking for when it comes to Chablis. Full bodied, and a little too round. That being said, still a solid wine.

Nov 28th, 2021Wow! This is by far the best Chablis I've had. Amazing white wine. Full at 14.5% abv, and superb with food. Had it with soy-marinated seared tuna steak, mesclun greens, tomatoes, scallions and miso-orange dressing. Great balance, acidity, complexity... everything you're looking for in a summer white.
