Paul Hobbs
Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
My favorite Beckstoffer Vineyard, and one of the best representations of it. Outstanding balance, lovely fruit and acidity, strong tannins, rich and full on the palate with a nice long finish.

Sep 20th, 2018Our first time tasting this, and kudos to the farming and the winemaker. It’s extracted and sweet, but also beguiling. Treacle on the nose combines with toasted bread. Mid palate presents rich dark cherries, forest floor, brown sugar and cinnamon notes. Soft velvety texture meshes nicely with moderate acidity. On the bubble right now, so consume if you have them. A beauty for sure.

Oct 30th, 2021@Jason and Jennie i see why this is your favorite vineyard. This is outstanding. The nose is violets, black fruit, oak, and graphite - subtle. The pallet is gorgeous; blackberry, cherries, chocolate... wraps up with acidity and tannins wrestling to win the close. I wish every wine had this story.

Feb 12th, 2021Blueberry, blackberry, cinnamon. The structure in this wine allows it to be consumed early or after several years of age. Pairing really well with the ribeye at Table 128.

Jul 16th, 2017$265. Not a great finish. A little sour. It's not complete and not full body. I was definitely not impressed with these Paul Hobbs wines. For the prices I would certainly look for others.
