Obsidian Vineyard Syrah

Pulled this from the cellar to pair with ribeye. Nice match, but not nearly as tannic as I expected.

Tasty, smooth, purple syrah. I like Pax and Saxum a lot.

Ok. There are few wines that make me go ‘oh my’. This is one of them. Pre07 pax is a special thing. Massive structure with smooth tannins and an epic finish. This wine has so many things going on. Sometimes up is down and down is up. A pure pleasure

In the world of American Syrah, there isn’t something better. Massive extraction with the intense subtleties of being refined. Massive nose with long deep finish on this 13 year old Syrah. Old Pax is an experience worth its weight in gold.

California Rhône goodness

Pretty much as expected. Inky purple, loaded with fruit yet dry on the finish. Fully mature. Excellent wine

Big nose of cedar, tobacco leaf, and menthol. Blueberries, blood, pepper, and roasted meat. My go to Syrah for ageability, consistency, and quality. Tough to beat these folks.

Killer

Large wine. Tons of black/deep purple fruit.
