A rich dark crimson in colour. A smoky creosote mocha aroma - plenty of charred oak. Sweet black fruits on the full bodied palate with blackberry and black cherry. A very Penfolds Barossa red. 2008 is the first vintage Penfolds made of the Bin 150. Marananga being a sub district of the Barossa and a noted source of old vine fruit. Typically, this is a pup, at 13 years of age and will cruise to 2030 and probably beyond.

A big full bodied wine by any measure. Lots of lush fruit and lots of oak. Supple tannins. Went well with Beef Casserole but probably more a winter wine. 17+.
