Penfolds
Max's Adelaide Hills Chardonnay
Named after Grange creator, Max Schubert. Adelaide Hills developing as a premium region for Chardonnay. A modern nose of funky solids and nougat. Not a blockbuster on the palate but quite restrained and elegant with grapefruit and mineral notes. Someone like Penfolds cannot afford to make an average wine and this is anything but average. Great QPR for only $35.

Jun 12th, 2021Mid Lemon in colour. Quite a complex yet correct modern Chardonnay showing grapefruit and nuts. This ticks all the boxes and punches above its weight for $40. Shows again how the Adelaide Hills is an excellent district for Chardonnay. I hope the recent bushfires up there have not been too damaging @Scott Rowe Named in honour of Max Schubert who was Penfolds winemaker from 1948 to 1975 and the creator of Grange.
