Penley Estate
Phoenix Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Inky ruby. Cherry and red berries on the nose, along with a hint of cracked pepper. In a forward, elegant style, offering juicy cherry cola and red currant flavors that deepen with air. Discreet tannins frame the persistent, appealingly sweet finish, which features repeating red fruit and spice notes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, September 2022)

Smells of. Plum skins
Medium weight, bright fruit, with some Tangy elements - fruit leatheresque.
Pleasant enough, it had all the elements to it, yet is lacking depth. A fine wine for a party - simple yet has enough to fit in as a background

Concentrated blue fruits with crush clay pot, black tea, cocoa powder and baking spice. Delivers some big, lush tannins and a long finish. Paired wonderfully with some solo dad time and the 4th installment of the Matrix.

Dec 28th, 2021Nose: olive, brine, bay leaf, fermenting vegetation, charcoal, some very slight (and very dark) fruit. Taste: good. Medium weight plus, a little grippy. Specific flavors less pronounced in the glass, it just tastes like a solid, subtle European style cab. This is good. Not a “deal”, but quality, worth the price @ $18. I prefer a bit more purple fruit and silky Napa goodness myself, but happy with it.
