Rastasburn Riesling
See previous Delectable notes. We love this New Zealand Riesling from Central Otago - made in the Germanic style with a little residual sugar. Minerality and peachy with M minus acid at its current age. Would go on for a year or two but essentially at its peak. When one thinks of NZ wines many tasters think of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, also Chardonnay but Riesling flies under the radar somewhat. Note to self - buy more NZ Riesling.

Oct 20th, 2024An off dry Riesling with a little residual sugar. On the palate quite delicious with some peach and slaty minerality. Acid at the perfect level at 6 years of age. A bottle will disappear quickly with friends. One of the 1001 wines. Tasted another bottle 51 weeks later on 8th April 2022 with similar notes - Germanic in style with a little residual sugar and peachy notes. Tasted another on 22nd July 2022 with consistent notes. Certainly off dry with peachy notes and diminishing acid. Easy to drink and enjoy. Tasted another on 2nd January 2023 with similar notes particularly the peachy notes with a little residual sugar.
