Kékfrankos

Crushed chalk, plum tart, sour cherry. Smashable and very fresh.

Very nice muddled earth-stewed red fruits and blackberries. Definitely a stereotypically natty wine; no surprise being imported by J&F, but still a lot of complexity and balance here with a short decant. Nice and lovely for a fairly entry level Kekfrankos despite being a bit powerful/extracted, with potential for short-term cellaring.

My first time drinking a Hungarian red wine. A Soproni - which is Hungarian for Blaufrankish if I’m not mistaken. Chalky, earthy, red fruited and medium bodied. Fun and simple.

I was expecting a bit more complexity from this wine. Taste of strawberry streusel. First Blumefrankish verity.

Juicy red fruit, super easy to drink.

Delightful, easy drinking. Light as a pinot. Medium tannin. Floral and red fruit. First Hungary wine I've had and I want more!
