2011 vintage. Richer style. Concentrated nose of charred tobacco pipe. New Bordeaux barrel influence. Dark, ripe fruit, intermingled with soil notes. Overall, refined, with balanced oak and fruit. Enjoyable now, though age will benefit oak integration.

When opened, this wine smelled so dreadfully of barnyard and brett that I thought I'd have to pour it down the drain. But within an hour, the olor campestre was all but gone, and cedar, pine and mint had taken over. Such a curious phenomenon, and in the end, a very good wine.
