Pierre Brisset
Cuvee Cassaneas Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay
Very good, but seemed closed compared to previous bottles.

Sep 3rd, 2021Been a while since I’ve had the 17. Nose of flint, green apples and pears. Beautiful purity and perfect ripeness. Ethereal minerals. Concentrated, dense and salty. Wow. What salinity this has picked up. Awesome purity. Just so structured and pure. AmazIng focus and linearity. Just an epic epic finish. So lean yet so luscious. A contradiction in the best possible ways. Best bottle of this yet. Texture is like icing on a cake. Amazingly saline and mineral and cot damn that finish doesn’t give up! So long. Just an unreal bottle. Reference point. A benchmark. A wine even Mr. Bean will drink.

Feb 23rd, 2021Literally next to Chassagne by a few yards. One of the best value White burgs I’ve ever had. Just a stunning wine. Exuberant nose of Apple and pear with huge minerality. Wow. Amazingly clean and dripping with purity. Palate has laser like precision and wonderful acidity and almost a sweetness from the intense minerality and fruit. So complex and juicy with intense structure. What grace and elegance and density. An amazing wine and value. With air it gets gorgeously mineral and super refined with wonderful compactness and just stunningly well made.

On the nose, sweet fruit at first, but becomes more taut: lemon, slathered with minerals, sweet lime. On the palate, ultra-focused acidity, crystalline lemon and lime, sour apple. Lovelt mouthfeel and a very focused and refreshing finish. Fantastic. Better than the 17 Dancer Bourgogne Blanc, which shows a bit more overt oak.
