Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
Le Banc Saint-Aubin Chardonnay
Finally a bottle of PYCM at the table. Part-time micro-négociant since 2001, but in full swing since he left the company of his father (Marc Colin) in 2005. Lovely Saint-Aubin villages - 50+ year old vines. When the cork came of the scent of the wine was a bit soapy, but that blew of really quick. Elegant wine, nice breadth, pointy citric finish.

Jan 18th, 2016Take this to Le Banc. Slightly reductive for the first 10 minutes, but quite lemony, steely, and minerally.

Dec 13th, 2015Had high hopes for this wine but it is super austere. Minerality that could clean a bathtub. And sparce fruit. Not fun 😩

Nov 26th, 2015Sensational. Top stuff from a top producer. Still tight and youthful but so much interest bristling under the surface.

Nov 20th, 2015Tonic, spartan, nuanced. Green apple skin, lemon zest, chalk, hazelnut.

Jul 7th, 2015Bit brash. Needs time, but will be great in 2-3. Extra lively acidity.
