Feb 27th, 2019Sweet black cherry liqueur on the first glass (after one, the liqueur effect begins to fade), ripe cranberry, raspberry, cooked rhubarb, black & red licorice together, dry cranberry, tar, black earth, minerals and smoked meats. Baking spices; cinnamon, vanilla. Sticky resolved tannins that coat your mid plate. Woody with tobacco leaf. Enjoy with a steak or good meat sauce with or without truffles. Drink now and for at least another 10-15 years. Perhaps, even beyond. Think the score could inch up to a 9.6 with some additional aging.

On the palate, it's medium-bodied, well balanced and focused with a silken texture and chewy tannins with red fruit, sweet spice, and leather flavors and a bit of minerality. Long finish. The wine was aged in French oak casks (70%) and smaller French oak barrels (30%) 14% alcohol. #OTBN
