Day 2 open. Nose of juicy ripe red plum, white pepper and some earth. The palate has good the red plum coming through, but more on the tart skins. chalky tannins and solid acidity. This can definitely use a couple years, but goes well now with food. A bit tight. Maybe it’s the greens I’m eating not working with it.

Juicy and yummy. Great acids, cranberry, blackberry, touch of leather, soil, black tea. Silky but bright, From 80-year-old Barbera vines in the middle of a prime Barbaresco plot. From Flatiron Wines.

Crushed dried cherries with that sense if the earth, coffee grounds. Warm, a sense of iron and minerality. Fresh, now a touch of anise, in a nice way. Now se raspberry. Cedar. Really nice! I love the sense of the earth.
