Valentines Day tipple and my first Pol Roger BdB. Fine persistent mousse. Lemon peel. On the palate ripe Grapefruit with honeyed nuances and Lemon curd. It does taste like 100% Chardonnay which it is but I often get the mix wrong. This is creamy, sumptuous and thoroughly delicious. The 2009 was released before the classic 2008 by many houses such as Dom. Lemony refreshment features over complexity in summary. One of the 1001 Wines.

The 2009 Pol Roger ‘Blanc de Blancs Champagne is a fresh and energetic effort that is shining brightly in its youth. The wine is beautiful blend of Chardonnay sourced from Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Oger villages. Upon entry the wine leads with bright white flowers that combine with sourdough bread and Japanese pear aromatics that all combine brilliantly in the glass. Lithe and light on its feet, the Champagne shows off shades of marzipan, fresh ginger and minerals that mingle with the bright orchard fruits on the palate. While delightful now, this will cellar well for the next five to ten years. Drink 2019-2029- 92

Beautiful champagne, still holding up quite well. Had a nice creamy texture to it with fine bubbles. Paired it with some Brie and it was like a match made in heaven!

17/20 (92/100) Аромат синодами жареного лесного ореха, зелёных яблок и ананасов, сдобной булки. Высокая кислотность. Зеленое хрустящее яблоко во вкусе. Отлично!
