Delicious and a little dirty, spritzy, and tart; natty wine credentials with California amplitude. Short and simple finish, but this is a fun wine, harmonious, and knows what it is. Dry-farmed, old-vine Carignane from Mendocino, drink anytime, with anything

Bam! Fresh zippy grippy goodness. Give me a juicy burger please. Had the acidity to handle the fat.

I am always skeptical when I see a few somms who give high scores to natural wine labels and wonder if they have some kind of connection with the winemakers. Day 1: bright red fruit, sweet VA, faint herbal aromas and smoked game character, fresh cranberry and sour cherry on palate. Out the gates it literally tasted like fruit punch/grape drank with no sweetness, lacking in structure or depth. After a few minutes a subtle richness lightly poked you on the palate. After even more time more VA and slight ethyl acetate peaked out from under the layers of blankets. For the price, I'd rather drink a 10-12€ Languedoc or Côté de Catalan. Was intrigued by the story, but it felt like a 2 minute romp in the sheets and left expecting much, much more....and with a deep sigh I resorted to self stimulation. Not sure about even giving it a 2nd chance on Day 2 in fear of getting played again. Day 2 - I got burned again and wondered why I let myself get into another walk off shame scenario. Had my guys test it on the Foss later that day and it registered 0.82 for VA.
