The 2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent effort from this warm vintage in Napa Valley. On the nose the wine shows off lovely herbal undertones that combine with blackberry cobbler, mocha and anise aromatics. The palate is plush, delivering a soft and inviting mouthfeel. Wild blackberry, crushed mint, and dark chocolate covered espresso bean flavors all combine nicely in the mouth. While excellent now, this will evolve well over the next decade. Drink 2019-2029-90

V16. Very nice.
Minty fresh cut cedar nose. Big, juicy black currant and blackberry fruit. Dry, mocha with a slight herbal leather finish .

I keep coming back to this Cabernet! Presents with blackberries, dark cherries, black licorice, anise, cloves, espresso beans, and cocoa! This wine is mild/medium on tannins,. Nice QPR!

Kelly had Salmon. I had shrimp. Wine was smooth with a little spice. We let it decant in the fridge for a few hours.

Aug 14th, 2020Having a small collection of wine...trying to decide what I could open...but replace easily if need be. I have had a couple of 2016 CS recently and honestly wished I had waited a few years!
I am so happy that this Rutherford Cab is so delicious ! Smooth...black licorice...Rutherford dust..expresso..clove..black berries..dark cherries..wet leaves and vanilla! No regrets that I perhaps opened this to soon; definitely getting more!
