Fruity nose of bruised apples, melons, light tropical fruits, light spices, oak and light herbs.

Full-bodied with medium minus acidity.

Dry on the palate with lemons, overripe citrus fruits, spices, light earth, light oak and white pepper.

Tangy finish with lemons and spices.

This 10 year old Chardonnay is still drinking very nicely, with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Elegant and buttery.

Spicy and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Grapes were aged in (35% new) French Oak barrels for 12 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

As the summer is slipping out of our hands, its time to to pop those complex reds that we’ve been lastning for. Produttori del Barbaresco is considered one of the best cooperatives in the world and its 2016 Barbaresco is a solid proof of that statement.
Restrained at first and needs a couple of hours in the decanter to reach its climax. True to its provenance its clasically crafted, and puts up complex profile of red cherries, rose hip, strawberries, spice, bitter orange and a volatile dried floral lift over a canvas of wet soil.
An offensive approach on the palate with a high acidity and a generous portion of mouth coating tannins that is well accompanied by a pronounced fruit profile with an evolving finish. Very good indeed, but is a couple of level behind to reach the higher tiers. — 6 years ago

Birthday wine!!! Best example of 82 margaux I’ve tasted. Perfectly stored. Deep and dark mahogany color with minimal bricking. Absolutely beautiful nose of red currant, cassis, dried rose petals, pencil shavings, fresh green tobacco and cedar. Some noticeable green character and earthiness that is definitely ‘margaux’. We could not believe how young this still is. Provenance was perfect. Came out of an unbroken owc. Elegant yet powerful at the same time. Could easily last another 20 years yet so beautiful on its (and my) 39th bday. — 5 years ago

I can nearly state that Victorian cool climate Chardonnay are starting to be quite recognisable

Probably towards the end of its drinking window, showing fantastically though. Dark cherry and spice on the nose with notes of old leather shoes, cigar box and prunes. On the palate it retains a good tannic structure and tastes of blackberries, cherries and baking chocolate. This is fantastic. — 2 years ago
