Prunatelli
Canaiolo Bianco di Toscana
What a fun wine! Importer’s web site says one day of skin contact but tastes like more. Definitely showing that oxidative character of dried fruit, white potpourri, and Amontillado sherry, but nonetheless retains a nice freshness even with a few years in bottle. Palate and finish lack the luscisousness and intensity I’d hoped for but all in all a really enjoyable experience tasting this ridiculously rare varietal (1 hectare in the entire world!).

Mar 3rd, 2018A fun, interesting wine to taste and a good story to boot about this mutated red grape used for a white wine.
Super rare with +/- 1 acre planted and about 180 cases produced.

From a btg bottle, not showing as well as the last bottle I had. Most likely been open for a bit too long.
