2005 Radio-Coteau "Las Colinas" Syrah - upon opening it was dainty and light with not much going on. But then.... 3 hours later in a decanter, after dinner it turned into one of the best California Syrah I've had in a while. Rich black fruit structure, bacon and smoke, long silky finish. Spot On! Decant for 2-3 hours. Drink now or hold for 3-5 more years.

At first it had a strong soy sauce character on the nose that was a little off putting. After being open for 30 minutes or so it blew off and really started to riches up. Beautiful wine...

In the world of CA Syrah he is my number one. Eric Sussman brings out the best in these Sonoma coast Syrah's. They achieve quiet the aromatic complexity and depth as few I've seen.
