Dark garnet. Inviting nose of blackberry and patent leather. Echoed on the medium full palate with a bit of bitter anise. Medium low acidity (plus a bit of malolactic?). Medium tannins from entry, softening a bit back palate. Finish is a bit short. Nice smooth alternative to Rhône wines ready to bring the black fruit and leather to spiced pork and light beef dishes. Drink now through 2025.
