Colombè Dolcetto d'Alba
2012 - a fantastic "everyday drinker" Piedmont! Clarity and refractive brightness shows ruby red with minimal variation. First hour: Ripe, black, cherries and macerated cranberries dominate the nose which leads to licorice. Dry, with medium acidity and mid-plus tannins make this a well structured wine for the $16 price tag! Black cherries continue on the palate with a fine, almond finish! Second day:
Violets and rose petals took over for an extremely perfumed nose! The tannins and acidity remained which makes me think this baby could cellar. Great value! Drink now to 2019

Dark red with great balance, good earthiness and a touch of black licorice and red raspberry. Builds a bit of spiciness once it opens up.

Nov 9th, 2014Light hints of violet to the nose followed by plum and cherry with a clean dryness to the finish.

Sep 15th, 2014Pretty solid for the price point. Sour cherries and nothing else there.
