Nose of; black currants, blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, plum, black raspberries, dry black cherry liqueur, strawberry preserves, dried dark florals, deep spices, crushed rocks and dry stones. On the palate, thick, rich, round, softened but meaty dusty tannins. Loaded with plums, black plums, dark cherries, black raspberries, strawberries, pomegranate, cherries, boysenberries, liqueur qualities, mocha chocolate, light touch of caramel, dry dark florals & liquid violets, leather, crushed rocks, stones, underbrush, deep spices, touch of pepper, dry herbs, rich warm dark earth, raining soft acidity. The finish is warmth, spice, juicy ripe fruits that have good; balance, structure, nice tension and a finish that doesn't stop. I bought this at a tasting in 2008. In that tasting, was an 06 Mouton. Everyone at the tasting liked this better than the Mouton. Not so unusual for a young Napa/Alexander Cabernet to show better young than a young Bordeaux. However, this is still giving that Mouton a run for it's money. This 06 still has 10-15 years plus of life ahead of it. Paired well with the short ribs.
