The silky texture and elegance is simply outstanding, as is the wonderful astringency and tension. Red currant jelly, red cherry cordial, cola and peat moss flavors captivate the senses. On the nose a whiff of heavy toast coconut, asian spice, intense cranberry, wild strawberry. On the palate, lively acidity and density, cranberry, wild strawberry, soft oak, white pepper, more strawberry, and serious tannic grip on the finish. I would like this more if the oak was a little less dominant on the nose.

From 375 ml - A melange of slightly confected dark cherry and raspberry, spice, and evergreen bough steminess, nice but a little bitter on the finish. It grows on me though, and I liked the last glass much more than the first. It also showed better with food.
