Definitely still in its drinking window, As is often said to be the case with older zin & zin blends, however, it’s more like a claret than a zinfandel. Subdued fruit notes are woven with earth, button mushroom, and black tea, atop silky smooth tannins. Just a wisp of spice on the close. A nice way to start off a few 25th anniversary year wines.

Education wine, Zin can be hit or miss for me. But this, a blend of several other grapes, especially carignan makes a killer bottling. This bottle was pricey given its age, but showed how much potential this wine has where I would have otherwise passed it over

1994 Ridge Geyserville Zin at Hakkasan London. Surprisingly, it stayed delicious. We didn't decant due to age and poured from bottle and glad we did. Was awesome all thru dinner.
