A 2+ hour decant seems about right. Plush dark fruit, violet, cedar, tannins have softened since the last time I tried this one. Plenty of sediment left in the decanter. This is destined to party even more in a year. Awesome.

Reviews indicate the window starts in 2020. 100% agree. Big. Well structured. But a big boy. Open for several hours but just not mellowing. Hold. Don’t open. Revisit in 2020.

The first ‘15 i’ve opened and this is already drinking pretty nicely. Still packing some tannins but with a little air and a big fat steak it’s everything you could want.

Monthly guys group wine meet-up. No theme tonight aside from “it better be good”.

Wanted to open this to prepare for next week’s release. Wow! Cherry pie and slate/mineral driven nose. Almost “crunchy”. Sweet blackberries and cotton candy. Great structure on the palate. Red, blue and black fruit spectrum. So incredibly easy to drink.

Perfect way to start off the Thanksgiving Weekend. First of four blind wines this evening. Deep purplish red. Powerful nose with layers of cedar, blueberries, black currants and spices. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Complex palate with sweet spices, dark berries, dark cocoa and a touch earthiness. Long and lingering finish with a touch of dryness. Drink from 2018 to 2028. (92+)

Dense opaque color more tertiary savory aromas than fruit. Soft tannins very rich w long finish. Needs time to develop

2015 - nose of rich cream, dark cassis and blackberry, slight charred notes, slight red spice, but overwhelming cream and dark berries. Tastes similarly, but good acidity for balance, and cream is well balanced. Not overextracted but definitely in the Napa style. Good aromas and complexity.
