I’m note sure what I just had...smelled a bit like Madeira. Tastes nothing like it. Dates & figs all day long. Lots of acid keep this from being cloying but make no mistake, it’s a sticky one. Awesome in small doses. Diabetic in large doses.

Think this is the oldest bottle I’ve had to date. My guess here was Madeira. The finish was incredibly maple-driven. Caramel, sticky-sweetness with some acidity still hanging around to provide structure. Great dessert wine!

Apr 20th, 20181966 vintage. Tawny colour. Nose of toffee, nuts, coffee. Lively acidity, medium sweet, fresh flavours of flame raisins, dried currants, orange zest. Long finish of coffee and currants.
