Yes! Congratulations to Jen for getting our old house sold quickly and at a great price, despite the smokey atmosphere.

Purple-black in color. Blackberry and currant, with a hint of smoke on the nose. Black plum and the tartness of being unripe plus anise. Quite firm tannins and dry. Really needs to open up yet

Truly inky dark - like petrol. Exuberantly fruity nose. Tons of fruit and layered with oak, not overpowering. Long finish with a bit of heat (15.7% after all). Needs food but this is nice.

Another stunner from Justin Smith, the 2009 Bone Rock is an SMG blend. Took quite a while to open up (perhaps due to the 31% mourvedre in this one). If you plan on drinking it soon I'd suggest at least an hour or two of decanting. Beautiful, intense fruit with a terrific roasted meat component on the nose. Tannins are firm, but the balance is great. Long finish. This is going to merit a much higher rating in a few more years...but it's still terrific now!
