Mmmm...fantastic wine from Justin at Saxum. Was going to open a 2005 or 2006, but the ‘08s appear to be evolving more rapidly than a lot of the adjacent vintages. Great primary aromas of blackberries and other dark fruits. Doesn’t have some of the roasted meat/iodine aromatics I expect from Paso syrahs, but ‘08 might have been a much warmer vintage than is typical. Has a great evolution on the palate and a great finish. Fantastic.
