Seppelt first began producing Sparkling Shiraz in the 1890s thanks to Hans Irvine. Apparently there was intense debate between Seppelt winemakers as to where the best fruit was allocated - the Sparkling or the Still. Eight years on lees. These are made to be 30 year Wines. Berry and Herbs. Concentration and length with the bubbles. Made from Seppelts best old vines. Sensational! Long life ahead.

Dec 25th, 2017An amazing 8 years on lees - only 1000 dozen made. An iconic Australian wine - Sparkling Shiraz. Notes of raspberry and cherry - will develop leathery notes from past experience with older vintages. Can be drunk now but built for the long haul. Next one next Christmas with the Roast Turkey if I can keep my hands off it!

Dec 25th, 2015A fabulous celebratory unusual wine. Lots of black fruit and stewed plum. Light and curiously refreshing given the normal size of a great Shiraz.
