They also import a small excellent range of Burgundy.

An excellent rendition of Shiraz Viognier from leading Australian winemaker and Show Judge, Tom Carson whose main job is chief winemaker for Yabby Lake. Serrat is his personal venture. The 2014 version of this wine was Halliday’s wine of the year - a much coveted award.

Jan 15th, 2023Serrat is the private venture of Tom Carson and his French wife, Nadege. Tom runs iconic Yarra valley winery Yabby Lake and is a highly respected Wine Show judge. The 2014 of this wine sold out in minutes when it won James Hallidays Wine of the Year last year. This 2013 shows opulent blue and red fruits with mulberry, violets and dusty spices. A lot crammed into this delicious northern Rhone style. My kind of wine. Serrat is close planted with 4 times the average vine density. Tried another bottle on 3rd September 2016 with consistent notes to the above. Must post a 2015 tasting note. Bought 6 bottles recently.

Wine making from Tom Carson and wife Nadege of Yabby Lake fame. Intriguing nose of roses and touch of pepper. Overall impression of freshness and vitality. 2013 vintage. The 2014 must be special to be better than this.
