Sinegal Estate
St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon

13’ Sinegal Cabernet. A beautiful purple color, offers up blackberry, crème de cassis, charcoal & licorice. Full-bodied, yet still youthful & tight.

Needs time to open up. Popped and poured. Wish we had time to decant this. Tons of tart blackberry, black currant, barrel toast, mineral rich soil. Excellent extraction. A dense core of fruit that needs time to refine. Finishes with some roasted herbs. Thanks, @ADAM STROMFELD!

Spicey mocha big dark fruit on the nose. Still too young (even decanted).

Noticeably better than last one of these we popped a couple of years ago. Pretty close to prime time for this wine

2013 vintage. Brooding dark fruits with a substantial structure and an extended finish. Needs a good decanting to be approachable today. Has a good life ahead, but very enjoyable now too.

Dec 2nd, 2018Absolutely delicious. Youngest wine of the line-up -- loads of fresh off-the-vine ripe berries. Interestingly, liked this and the oldest wine of the night ('96 Spottswoode) the best. All the others were outstanding as well. Unlike many other producers, I highly prefer Sinegal's '13 today vs the '14.
