Vila Regia Douro Red Blend

Simple red fruit - not overpowering

Deep red color, nice thickness, hint of coconut in smell and in the finish. Takes awhile to open up, but still good. Quite a bit of tartness.

Table wine...but an agreeable one.

First Portuguese table wine that I've truly enjoyed

Vila Regia or Royal Town - red wine blend, not very distinctive flavora

Smell and taste of currant and plum

This is a good blend. The 2013 vintage has everything to offer moderately, and for the price it is an excellent choice. This wine would be ideal with grilled meat on a BBQ.

Table wine, but let me be clear. I gave it a 9 because it is extremely solid for the price. This compliments meat and poultry beautifully, and is a tremendous bargain. I can drink this daily, leaving the more pricey options for weekends and occasions, and be perfectly happy.
