Based in Sonoma, fruit is sourced from both Sonoma and Napa, showcasing the character of the individual vineyards. This wine opens with distinctive earthy aromas with herb and berry fruit scents. On the palate the fruit leans toward tart cranberry and strawberry flavor with bitter herbs, mushrooms and black tea. Smooth tannins well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak tones and earthiness that creeps in to the end.

Jun 30th, 2018Just a baby still, will see how this is in 3-5 years. Plenty of acidity on this which balances out the red cherry fruit and fresh red flowers. Long on the palate. One of my favorite vineyards in the Sojourn arsenal.

Oct 2nd, 2017Petaluma Gap sounds windswept and barren but this is rich and as full a domestic Pinot as I can handle before I say, "fu*k this give me Burgundy". Hits classic notes of sweet red cherry, cinnamon spice and orange peel with good length and just enough acidity to balance 14.2% ABV. This is the perfect middle ground for California Pinot maybe, right between those who shoot for 'tastefully underripe' and the Martinelli/SeaSmoke/GuyFieriFlavortown contingent.
