It has been quite some time since I opened a bottle of the Sonoma Hills Cab. I bought it on the cheap a while back - having really enjoyed my first bottle - but hadn't been back since. It definitely feels like a different story now. While far from bad - and let's remember I paid all of $6 a bottle - there are some things that stick out funny for me now. Like green bell peppers. They're everywhere, nose, palette, you name it. They tend to override the more pleasant notes of dark fruit and earth. If you had blind tasted me on this bottle I would have been positive it was a Chilean Cab. It just feels warm...and really bell peppery.
