Smells of dark mocha caramel. Most likely coming from the barrels. Macerated caramel cherries. I almost need a bib.

Ruby red to violet dark in color, this is a vibrant full-flavor Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. 2016 vintage, Talamonti Estate, well-reputed family per the label (?). Well balanced but intense for its grape, light tannins though notable, aged 6 mos. in Slovenian Oak barrels (per the label) - slightly odd finish is only disquieting element.
