Low alcohol, round tannin, good favor of dark berries. Yummy.
Worth pizza & cheese.
Tasting note: Rich, big, generous Syrah with wonderful ripe blackberry fruit and sweet spices. Well handled tannins on the palate. The wine has an appealing savoury/meaty dimension. This wine was made from four different clones from their older vines. Will age well - keep for at least 3-4 more years before opening. Tasted in: Central Otago, New Zealand. Maturity: Drink. (27-Jan-2011) Jeannie Cho Lee
Produced since 1992, the vines for the Bullnose Syrah are now 20 years old. Purple-black in color, the 2009 Bullnose Syrah gives up a pronounced nose of blueberry compote and blackberry pie filling with hints of cloves, moss covered bark, allspice, toast and aniseed with a whiff of white pepper. Medium bodied and concentrated in the mouth, it gives a good structure of crisp acid and firm, ripe, rounded tannins, finishing long and peppery. Wine Advocate 92-94
