Jan 1, 2017. Tucson w/ Adrienne, Roman & Jack D. Definitely decant for 45-60 minutes. Wow. Takes the edge off and opens a well balanced, floral red. Lovely.

This grape is so underloved. This reminds me of a southern rhone in its rustic earthiness. The nose is a gamey , wet Forrest full of violets. The palate is mild and medium bodied. It tastes like someone took cellared blackberry concentrate, and cut it with a little water. I mean that in an earthy, good way. This is lovely wine.

This is a gem. Full and well balanced, great Italian region. Fruit is defined and up front.
