The best bottle of carricante I have yet had. Sleek and lean, with the barest tinge of waxiness. Lemon curd, orange blossom water, wild fennel, California bay laurel. Brilliant acidity, but the soul of this wine remains Mediterranean. Great persistence. If Etna rosso is the burgundy/Barolo of the South, then this is the Pfalz Riesling of the South.
