Tenuta di Arceno
Valadorna Toscana Red Blend
Bit heavy on the new oak, but it’s understandable as this wine needs A LOT of time. Black and blue fruits meld with smoky oak and vanilla plus good acid. Dried herbs and minerals mid-palate coupled with a long fruity finish. Cellar it.

Aug 10th, 2017Deep ruby in color with a purplish rim.
A Beautiful Sonoma Cabernet nose, with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, oak, vanilla, earth, sage, tar, flat cola, spices, herbs, animal notes, wild flowers and peppercorn.
Full bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, vanilla, licorice, light oak, leather, smoke, chocolates, cola, dark coffee, sage, eucalyptus, black pepper and spices.
Long finish with round tannins and spices.
This is a Great Super Tuscan, with a California Cabernet feel. Balanced, complex, interesting and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Good right out of the bottle with a lot of cola and licorice notes. This Merlot based Tuscan, is not my usual drinker, but I really enjoyed it. At $70, it is a little expensive, though.
I paired it with grilled steak and vegetables.
A blend of 66% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petite Verdot.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Initial sweet taste with a little bitter in the finish. Not as rich as we would like but taste stays with you. Clings on. A smooth wine that goes well on its own, a hint of prune and smoke in the follow through. A complex flavour profile.
