2009 Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino
This week I had the pleasure of having the wine above which surprised me a bit. I am beginning to like these Brunello's.
The wine has a nice fruit forward nose with notes of cherry, raspberry, plum, clay and dried roses.
On the palate are expressive fruit of tart cherry, red plum, strawberry, licorice, white pepper and forest floor.
There is a full bodied full mouth feel, medium + Acidity and Medium + firm silky tannins.
A very nice bottle of wine and enjoyable to drink.
Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Oct 17th, 2016A serious Brunello from one of the best makers in Montalcino. Savoury with big dry tannins - some bitter plum skin notes. Built for the long haul like most B Santi wines.

Sep 29th, 2015Digging the old world with this Biandi Santi, the original Brunello. Medium body with a chalky structure, leather, and tobacco. Great food wine. Pass the prosciutto and pecorino please!
