The Federalist Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon

Holy fruit! Loads of unusual black and blue fruit such as blackberries and blueberries, hint of cinnamon spice on the back end. Deep purple color. Medium to medium plus acidity. Firm tannins, light oak, long silky finish. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese. Not bad!

Pale. Not much flavor. Meh. Certainly not a full-bodied red, as the label suggested. 2015 vintage.

I really liked the 2022 but the 2023 is just lovely. Blackberry and bramble on the nose, blackberry, leather and spice finishing in cocoa and oak. Couldn’t stop drinking it after having with pasta and marinara.

So full bodied! Very fruit forward! Yummy! Flavors of blueberry, raspberry and dark plum.

Nice, rich and earthy front, with a light, peppery finish.

Black cherry, avg tannin, tart, good for price

Great for the price. Paired excellently with a spicy Italian dish, slight sweetness if by itself.

Not full bodied, more medium. Good sipping wine, not enough flavor to pair with steak, but would probably work with pork or pasta.
