The Eyrie Vineyards
Estate Grown Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Amazed at how well this has held up! Still has good but subdued fruit and structure. Should drink well for at least another 5+ years. A great testament to the age worthiness of Oregon Pinot.

Feb 23rd, 2015Pretty cool to have a this good, and for it to be this old, and to be from the U.S. Raspberries, mushrooms, minerals out the ying-yang. Truly like good Burg.

Feb 6th, 2015Crunchy autumn leaves, dying campfire, hibiscus and dried rose petals. Seriously one of the best wines I've tasted.

Jan 17th, 2015Holy crap......this may very well be the finest pinot noir I've had the chance to enjoy. One of the top wines I've ever had period. Ive had a lot of pinot noir and this puts most to shame.......even after 24 years. This just goes to show that the laying down rule is very open to interpretation. Many say they should only lay down 5-7 years. Well, ill just say this wine is shining and it is impeccable. Clear, star bright, orange/brown color, gold to yellow rim. No gas, no sediment and low viscosity. Nose: flawless, moderate intensity, vinous, rotting cherries and strawberries, floral and spicy with chalky notes and potent barnyard/manure. I believe this wine was oaked. Palate: dry, light bodied, wild berries, stewed rotting cherries and tart overripe to rotting strawberries. Lilies, umami, and fresh rubber with manure, soil, mulch and leather flavors. Baking spices like cinnamon come to mind with a touch of vanilla. Med- tannins, med alcohol, med+ acid, med+ finish, and high complexity. My first wine from eyrie, i plan to evaluate much more of their work. 10/10

Aug 6th, 2014Baking spices, lavender, fine leather on the nose. Delicacy and finesse on the palate. Light as a feather but with ample personality and presence.
